KUALA LUMPUR — Yayasan Raja Muda Selangor (YRMS) will sponsor five young technicians under The Technology Transfer Apprenticeship Programme (TTAP) from Selangor for a six-month programme with Porsche at the 2023 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia races.
According to a statement by Persona Energy Sdn Bhd today, the programme would enable the technicians to gain invaluable knowledge and experience during the race.
TTAP founder and Persona Energy executive director Jazeman Jaafar said the collaboration aims to demonstrate that Malaysian apprentices, especially the youth of Selangor, can thrive in the automotive and motorsport industries through the pyramid system developed in collaboration with Porsche Motorsport Asia Pacific.
“I would like to thank Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, the Crown Prince of Selangor and Yayasan Raja Muda Selangor for their trust and belief in TTAP.
“Since our inception three years ago we have produced about 100 apprentices and they have received high praises within the industry for their competency,” said Jazeman in the same statement.
He also said that this is the first programme in the region to have such collaboration with a renowned name in the automotive and motorsport industry that provides a path for young talents to participate in the world of motorsports.
In the meantime, Jazeman believed the collaboration with YRMS signified a continued commitment to developing human capital and fostering a sustainable ecosystem in motorsports for future generations.
The 2023 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia which began in March will run until this October with the last race to be held in Shanghai International Circuit, China, from October 20 to 22. — August 25, 2023
