Weather warning: MetMalaysia issues alert for severe storms across M’sia

Thunderstorms, heavy rain, strong winds expected in seven states until 4pm today

KUALA LUMPUR – The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds in seven states.

The warning, posted at 12.30pm on its Facebook page, indicates that heavy rain is expected until 4pm today.

The seven affected states are Selangor, Pahang, Negri Sembilan, Johor, Perak, Sabah, and Sarawak.

Some of the affected areas include Selangor (Sabak Bernam, Hulu Selangor, Gombak, and Hulu Langat), Pahang (Raub and Bentong), and Negri Sembilan (Jelebu).

Other affected regions include Johor (Kluang, Mersing, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru) and Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, and Muallim).

Additionally, Sabah’s rural areas (Kuala Penyu and Beaufort), Pantai Barat (Papar and Penampang), Tawau (Lahad Datu), and Sandakan (Telupid, Kinabatangan, Beluran, and Sandakan) and Sarawak’s Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Sibu and Kanowit), and Mukah (Tg Manis, Daro, and Matu) are also affected. – December 3, 2023
