KUALA LUMPUR – Texas-based instrumental rock icons Explosions in The Sky are gearing up to mesmerise audiences at Jiospace Odeum on February 29, marking their second solo concert in the country after a hiatus of almost 16 years since their first appearance in 2008.

Renowned for their atmospheric and emotive soundscapes, Explosions in The Sky will be gracing the Malaysian stage as part of their Asia Tour featuring their latest and enigmatic seventh album, End.

The much-awaited event promises to be a captivating musical journey, blending the quiet restraint and intense emotions of their early releases with the sonic texturing and ornate experimentation characteristic of their later works.

The show, organised by Soundscape Records and Live Fact, will be taking place at Jiospace Odeum in Petaling Jaya.

Fans can secure their spots with presale tickets via cloudjoi.com. The presale period, running until February 28, offers tickets at RM200, with door tickets priced at RM230 on the event day.

End is a masterpiece that captures the essence of Explosions in The Sky’s evolution, drawing inspiration from their entire discography and their diverse range of influences, spanning classical, soul, and experimental ambient music.

The album reflects the band’s artistic growth, incorporating elements from their deep involvement in film and television scoring.

The End Tour was officially announced by the band late last year, promising a live show experience across 26 cities worldwide.

Despite being the seventh studio album, the band assures fans that End is not their final creation, hinting at more to come in the future.

Music enthusiasts and fans alike are encouraged to secure their tickets early, the organisers said. – February 22, 2024
