Sudden water disruption hits Penang’s Batu Ferringhi, surrounding areas

Numerous households, businesses experience low water pressure, supply cuts due to a trip at water treatment plant

KUALA LUMPUR – Numerous households and businesses in Penang’s tourist area of Batu Ferringhi and parts of Tg Bungah and Tg Tokong were hit with a sudden water supply disruption this evening.

Penang Water Supply Corporation posted on its Facebook page that the affected areas either suffer from low water pressure or no water supply at all following a trip at the Batu Ferringhi water treatment plant at around 4.30pm.

The affected areas are along Jalan Tg Bungah 2, Tg Tokong area (until Island Plaza), and along Jalan Batu Ferringhi (until Bayview Beach Hotel).

PBAPP has apologised for any inconvenience caused and advised consumers to use their water supply wisely.

The status of the water disruption will be updated from time to time. – May 15, 2024
