KUALA LUMPUR – Former head of Bersatu’s women’s wing, Datuk Seri Rina Harun, has been appointed as the party’s Treasurer, while Datuk Tun Faisal Ismail Aziz has been appointed as the Bersatu Information Chief.

Bersatu president, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, announced the appointments which are effective immediately.

He also confirmed that Datuk Seri Azmin Ali will serve as the party’s secretary-general for the 2024-2027 term.

“I pray that those appointed will carry out the duties enshrined in the Bersatu Constitution with trust, efficiency, and integrity,” he said.

“I also take this opportunity to express my heartfelt gratitude to Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, the former Secretary-General; Datuk Mohamed Salleh Bajuri, the former Treasurer; and Datuk Razali Idris, the former Information Chief, for their service and dedication to the party,” he added.

The position of Bersatu Secretary-General was previously held by Hamzah, who is now the party’s Deputy President. Former Treasurer Mohamed Salleh and former Information Chief Razali were both unsuccessful in the recent party elections.

Azmin recently confirmed his acceptance of the position of Bersatu Secretary-General after being offered the role by Muhyiddin at a special party conference held in July.

Rina withdrew from the Bersatu elections in October, and the position of head of the women’s wing is now held by Masjid Tanah MP, Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin.

Meanwhile, Tun Faisal, a former Deputy Chief of the Putrajaya Umno division, joined Bersatu in January 2023. – November 28, 2024
