FBM KLCI futures end higher despite weaker cash market

Futures contracts post gains across the board, but turnover narrows as open interest dips

KUALA LUMPUR — The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI (FBM KLCI) futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives ended higher today.

At the close, February 2025 gained 4.5 points to 1,591.0, March 2025 and June 2025 increased six points each to 1,572.50 and 1,576.0 respectively, while the September 2025 contract rose four points to 1,564.50.

However, turnover narrowed to 5,589 lots from 7,533 lots on Friday, while open interest slipped to 38,761 contracts against 39,414 contracts yesterday.

At 5 pm, the FBM KLCI fell 0.96 of a point to 1,589.95 compared with last Friday’s close of 1,590.91. — February 10, 2025
