PUTRAJAYA – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has launched an investigation into suspected corruption and irregularities surrounding the tender process for the MyKiosk project, which falls under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT).
MACC Investigation Division senior director Datuk Zainul Darus confirmed that a preliminary probe began following a complaint filed by a political party, Bernama reported.
“The Governance Investigation Division has also commenced a parallel investigation into the project,” he said in a statement today.
Zainul noted that alongside a full report submitted by KPKT, several other parties involved in the project have also handed over relevant documents to assist the investigation.
“The MACC’s investigation will focus on two key aspects: identifying any elements of corruption and irregularities in the tender process,” he added, stating that the probe is being conducted under the MACC Act 2009.
In May, the ministry submitted all related documentation to the MACC in a move it described as a demonstration of its commitment to integrity and transparency.
KPKT has maintained that all procurement and contractor appointments for the MyKiosk initiative were managed by 133 local authorities (PBT) through an open quotation process. – July 2, 2025
