Bitcoin surges past US$116,000, sets new all-time high

The cryptocurrency briefly traded above US$117,000 on Bitmex, marking 4.7% daily gain

MOSCOW – The price of bitcoin has risen above US$116,000 (RM493,700) for the first time in history, according to Binance cryptocurrency exchange trading data, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.

“According to Binance Market Data, Bitcoin (BTC) crossed the 116,000 USDT benchmark and is now trading at 116,322.71875 USDT, with a 4.69% increase in 24 hours,” according to a statement on the Binance website.

On the Bitmex cryptocurrency exchange, bitcoin hit a new all-time high (ATH), briefly rising above US$117,000 to reach US$117,614. – July 11, 2025
