Anwar urges Malaysians to face 2026 with unity, resolve and shared purpose

KUALA LUMPUR – Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on Malaysians to welcome 2026 with renewed unity and determination, stressing the need to strengthen national cohesion while ensuring ongoing reforms bring real and shared benefits to the people.

The prime minister said Malaysia must continue to uphold the spirit of togetherness and ensure the nation’s prosperity is felt by all segments of society.

He said the Madani government would remain committed to governing with trust, courage and compassion, carrying out its responsibilities with integrity to deliver tangible improvements to people’s lives and secure a more stable, prosperous future for the country.

“Let us move forward together, uniting our steps and resolve, to realise a more just, prosperous and resilient Malaysia Madani, elevate the nation to a higher level, and ensure inclusive prosperity for all Malaysians,” Anwar, who is also Finance minister, said in New Year address on his official Facebook page today.

The premier and his wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail also prayed for the nation to remain peaceful, harmonious and prosperous in 2026.– December 31, 2025
