KUALA LUMPUR – The government, through the Malaysian Indian Transformation Unit (Mitra), has launched the Uyarvu Madani Grant Programme, a new initiative offering grants of up to RM50,000 to strengthen Indian entrepreneurship and support business growth in Malaysia.
The programme is expected to benefit more than 700 Indian entrepreneurs nationwide, enabling them to expand their businesses, increase income and create more employment opportunities.
Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan said the initiative reflects the government’s continued commitment to building a stronger entrepreneurial ecosystem under the Madani Economy framework.

“The programme reflects the government’s continued commitment under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to nurture more competitive entrepreneurs capable of expanding their businesses, increasing income and creating quality employment opportunities,” he said.
Ramanan said the grant is more than just financial assistance, describing it as a long-term mechanism to help businesses grow sustainably.
“The government wants to see more Indian entrepreneurs not only starting businesses but growing them into resilient and competitive enterprises capable of creating more job opportunities for the community,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mitra Director-General Raveendran Nair said the grant has been structured to provide targeted support at different stages of business development.
The programme offers three funding categories:
Micro: Up to RM20,000
Growth: Up to RM35,000
High: Up to RM50,000
“The programme offers three funding categories aimed at helping businesses strengthen their operational capacity, improve productivity and enhance competitiveness,” he said.
