KUALA LUMPUR – Selangor FC will once again don the iconic three stripes after announcing Adidas as the club’s official kit partner for the 2026/27 season, reviving one of Malaysian football’s most recognisable partnerships after a 16-year absence.
In a statement published on its official website today, the Red Giants confirmed that the German sportswear giant will return as the club’s official kit manufacturer, ushering in a new chapter in a relationship closely associated with some of Selangor’s most successful eras.
The club said the renewed collaboration is built on a shared commitment to celebrating Selangor’s rich football heritage while inspiring future generations through the power of sport.
“The reunion marks a new chapter in a relationship that has spanned some of the club’s most memorable eras.
“United by a shared passion for football and a commitment to inspiring future generations through sport, Adidas and the Red Giants come together once again to honour a legacy built on pride, performance and purpose,” the club said.
Selangor added that Adidas had stood alongside the club during defining periods of its modern history, contributing to memorable moments both on and off the pitch while strengthening the club’s enduring #MentalitiJuara identity.
The partnership also brings to an end Selangor’s six-year association with Spanish sportswear brand Joma, which supplied the club’s kits from 2019 until the conclusion of the 2025/26 season.

While the new agreement officially begins with the 2026/27 campaign, Adidas’ association with Selangor dates back almost four decades.
The German brand first supplied the club’s kits from 1988 to 1990 before returning for a second spell between 2005 and 2010, making this its third stint as the Red Giants’ official kit manufacturer.
Several of Selangor’s greatest players have worn the famous three stripes over the years. Club legends such as the late Datuk Mokhtar Dahari, the late Datuk R. Arumugam, Datuk Santokh Singh and Datuk Zainal Abidin Hassan represented the Red Giants in Adidas kits during the brand’s earlier association with the club.
During Adidas’ second spell, the club’s jersey was worn by stars including Mohd Amri Yahyah, Safiq Rahim, Hardi Jaafar, Indra Putra Mahayuddin, Mohd Farizal Marlias, S. Kunalan and Razman Roslan.
That 2005-2010 partnership coincided with one of the club’s most successful periods in the professional era, as Selangor won the 2005 Malaysia Cup before securing the 2009 Super League title and FA Cup under head coach K. Devan to complete a domestic double.
Selangor remains one of Malaysia’s most decorated football clubs, with a record 33 Malaysia Cup titles, seven league championships, five FA Cups and eight Charity Shield crowns.
The renewed partnership will officially begin with the unveiling of the Adidas x Selangor FC 2026/27 home and away kits on Aug 20.
According to the club, the new designs will honour Selangor’s proud heritage while embracing a modern identity as the Red Giants begin a fresh chapter alongside one of the world’s most recognisable sporting brands. – July 8, 2026
