Budget 2027: RM1.1bil allocated for road upgrades at ports, airports

MAHB and the government will fund road improvements serving five airports and two STOLports in Sarawak to enhance transport connectivity

KUALA LUMPUR – The government and Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) will allocate RM1.1 billion to upgrade roads serving port areas and several airports nationwide under Budget 2027.

Tabling the budget in the Dewan Rakyat today, Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the upgrades would cover airports in Kota Kinabalu, Miri, Tawau, Sandakan and Penang.

The allocation will also fund road improvements serving the short take-off and landing (STOL) ports in Long Banga and Ba’Kelalan, Sarawak, as part of efforts to improve transport infrastructure and connectivity. – October 9, 2026
