GXBank CEO Pei-Si Lai promoted to GXS Bank group chief

KUALA LUMPUR — Pei-Si Lai, current chief executive officer (CEO) of GXBank in Malaysia, will take over as group CEO of GXS Bank effective June 1.

The digital bank announced the leadership transition in a statement today, following the upcoming retirement of current group CEO, Muthukrishnan Ramaswami.

“Succeeding Lai as the CEO of GXBank in Malaysia is Kaushik Chowdhury, the current deputy CEO and chief commercial officer (retail).

“He will be supported by Hildah Hamzah, who will take on the role of deputy CEO and chief operating officer, along with the existing management team,” it said.

Lai led the successful launch of GXBank in November 2023, with the bank gaining over one million customers within its first year. — May 14, 2025
