KUALA LUMPUR – The woman teacher who allegedly molested her male student is not allowed to interact with other students until the investigation is over, said Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek.

“If the accusations prove to be true, the ministry will take action against the teacher.

“Until then, we will follow all procedures that have been established until the investigation is completed.

“As for the student, we will provide full psychosocial support and protection as stipulated in the Education Ministry’s guidelines,” she was quoted as saying by Bernama after meeting Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia 2023 candidates in Klang today.

On Sunday, Sepang police chief Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof confirmed receiving a report about a teacher allegedly grooming her Form 5 student.

He noted that the report was lodged by the boy’s mother on December 12 last year.

In a statement, Wan Kamarul said the 46-year-old mother had filed the report after she noticed red marks on her son’s neck.

The boy claimed they were due to kisses from his teacher.

The victim has since been referred to the hospital for a medical evaluation while police carry out investigations under Section 14 of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act for physical assault on a child. – March 26, 2024
