KUALA LUMPUR – The husband-and-wife founders of eHati International, Diyana Tahir and Rahim Shukor, were arrested by police today after giving a statement at the Petaling Jaya Police Headquarters.
Their lawyer, Datuk M Reza Hassan, said his clients were detained by officers from Shah Alam IPD following their statement in Petaling Jaya.
According to reports, they are being investigated under Section 294 and Section 509 of the Penal Code, as well as Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act.
Shah Alam police chief Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim has confirmed the arrest, saying:
“Further details will be released once certain actions have been taken.”
The arrest comes amid public outcry over claims that the couple’s relationship-focused motivational programme, run under eHati, included indecent elements and questionable teachings.
The allegations stemmed from a Facebook post by a social media user who claimed that two women performed a nude dance during a session held at a convention centre in Shah Alam.
Participants were also allegedly given an unidentified drink that triggered emotional changes in a short time. They were reportedly instructed to undergo a “sacred cleansing” and “rebirth” ritual resembling practices from other religions.
Earlier today, Diyana said in a statement that legal action is being taken against those spreading slanderous and malicious claims.
“The spread of these defamatory posts has not only harmed our reputation but also tarnished our family’s name,” she said.
“We are emotionally distressed and have suffered severe mental pressure due to the spread of this baseless information. This irresponsible public attack has deeply affected us,” she said in a social media post. – July 15, 2025
