KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is currently attempting to locate Chai Jin Shern, a former aide to Pandan MP Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli, as part of an ongoing investigation.
The anti-corruption body has identified Chai, also known as James Chai, with his last known address in Shah Alam, Selangor.
MACC urged members of the public who may have information about him to contact Investigating Officer Mohd Hafidz Bin Abd Halim at 017-5046503 or via email at [email protected]
.
Chai, a graduate of the University of Oxford in law and technology, was one of the prominent individuals appointed by Rafizi to assist him in his role.
He also has a background as a writer.
In a separate development, Rafizi recently threatened legal action against the government, saying he would sue if the MACC’s probe into allegations against him did not lead to formal charges.
The investigation centres on accusations that he hastily executed a RM1.1 billion government deal with British semiconductor giant, Arm Holdings.
Rafizi has dismissed the investigation as a form of harassment, particularly following his call for the suspension of MACC Chief Commissioner Azam Baki over stock trading allegations and the “corporate mafia” scandal. – March 4, 2026
