KUALA LUMPUR – The government is taking measures to increase flight frequencies for Malaysians stranded in Dubai and the Northern Emirates following tensions in the region.
The Malaysian Consulate General in Dubai said it is monitoring the situation closely and coordinating with airlines to expand available flights. Limited services have resumed, prioritising stranded passengers.
“Based on information from local authorities, the security situation in Dubai remains stable and daily activities are proceeding as usual,” the consulate said.
However, some Malaysians have been charged for extended hotel stays despite earlier announcements that local authorities would cover costs. Citizens are advised to confirm payment arrangements directly with hotels and airlines.
Stranded Malaysians were urged to stay alert, follow announcements from UAE authorities and the consulate, and make contingency plans, including alternative accommodation if necessary.
