KUALA LUMPUR — Bersatu has issued show-cause letters to its vice-president, Datuk Seri Dr. Ronald Kiandee, and Women’s wing chief Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin over allegations linked to internal party politics.
Both leaders confirmed receiving the letters from the party’s disciplinary board, with a deadline to respond today, reported FMT.
Kiandee said he received his letter on February 28. “Whether I respond or not, I am certain action will still be taken, and I believe it is aimed at removing us for supporting Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin,” he said at the Majlis Moreh Perdana and Negeri Sembilan Gempur Rasuah launch in Port Dickson.
The board cited Kiandee’s letter to Perikatan Nasional chief whip Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, informing him that 13 Bersatu MPs backed Hamzah as Opposition Leader in Parliament, as one of the grounds for disciplinary action.
Mas Ermieyati said she also received a show-cause letter and had until today to reply but currently “has no intention of responding. We’ll see what happens.”
The letters come amid heightened internal tension in Bersatu, including disciplinary action against former deputy president Hamzah Zainudin and the expulsion or suspension of several leaders earlier this year.— March 7, 2026
