KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has frozen four company accounts and four personal bank accounts, with a combined value of approximately RM4 million, as part of an ongoing investigation into land misappropriation in Selangor.

Sources revealed that the Selangor MACC, which began its probe on Monday (March 9), has also frozen two unit trust accounts worth around RM2.6 million, alongside several other company and individual savings accounts totalling roughly RM1 million, Bernama reported.

“At the same time, the MACC investigation is now focusing on allegations of abuse of power and fraud,” the sources added.

Yesterday, a company director who also served as a trustee of an eight-acre plantation in Hulu Selangor was remanded for five days until Monday (March 16) in connection with the case.

Sources said that statements have been recorded from 24 individuals so far, with investigators continuing to trace other witnesses for further questioning.

Selangor MACC director Mohd Azwan Ramli confirmed the matter and said the investigation is being conducted under Section 16(a)(A) of the MACC Act 2009. – March 13, 2026
