KUALA LUMPUR — The Higher Education Ministry (MOHE) has extended the closing date for UPUOnline applications for Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) holders to Monday, April 13, at 12 noon.
Higher Education Director General Datuk Prof Dr Azlinda Azman, , urged students who have yet to apply not to delay, Bernama reported.
“Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir has agreed that the application deadline, which was originally set for April 12 (tomorrow), at 5 pm, has been extended to Monday, at 12 noon,” she said during her speech at the Jom Masuk Universiti 2026 Carnival (Northern Zone) at Universiti Utara Malaysia today.
Azlinda noted that UPUOnline has received 238,524 applications from SPM holders, while 112,488 applications were submitted by Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or equivalent candidates.
“This brings the total number of applications to 351,012 out of 379,578 candidates who purchased the UPUOnline PIN. This figure clearly shows the strong interest and confidence among the younger generation in pursuing higher education. So, to all SPM holders, do not miss the opportunity to apply for admission into higher education institutions,” she said.
She also reminded candidates to monitor announcements closely and make early preparations to avoid missing out on higher education opportunities. — April 11, 2026
