KUALA LUMPUR – The Catholic Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur has issued a clarification regarding an image that has recently been circulating on social media, stating that it is false and does not reflect any verified or genuine information.
Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur, Rev. Fr Dr Clarence Devadass, said the image is misleading and urged the public not to be misled by unverified content online.
“We hereby confirm that the image in question is false and does not represent genuine or verified information,” he said.
The image appears to be a digitally designed poster promoting an alleged financial aid from the DAP party for the church and the Christians in the country.
It also seems to feature the image of a person in a white robe with a message stating those who read it are being given a “chance from God” to become recipients of blessings.
According to the statement, the image was circulated virally on social media platforms.
Clarence added that the spread of such content can lead to unnecessary confusion and may affect public trust.
“The circulation of misleading content can cause unnecessary confusion and undermine public trust,” he explained further.
The Archdiocese strongly advised the public to be cautious when encountering information on social media and to avoid sharing unverified material.
“We strongly urge members of the public to exercise caution when encountering unverified material online. Please refrain from sharing or amplifying this image, as doing so contributes to the spread of misinformation,” he said.
He also emphasised that the public should rely only on official communication channels for accurate updates.
“Any announcements or statements will be issued directly through our official channels only,” he added. – May 26, 2026
