KUALA LUMPUR – The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah, today officiated the Pusat Rehabilitasi Perkeso Sultan Nazrin Shah in Meru Raya, a neuro-robotics and cybernetics facility integrating cutting-edge technology with holistic healthcare.
“The centre is not merely a healthcare facility, more importantly, it reflects a fundamental shift in the nation’s thinking and approach to rehabilitation,” His Royal Highness said.
He stressed that true progress lies in programmes that preserve dignity and provide second chances, not just infrastructure or economic gains.
The centre, inspired by traditional gold-thread embossing, brings together specialists in medicine, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, vocational training, psychology and social guidance.
“Let it remind us that adversity need not be the final chapter of one’s life. With the right support, a caring society and meaningful opportunities, individuals can rebuild their lives with dignity and independence,” Sultan Nazrin added.
The Sultan also highlighted Perkeso’s collaboration with 7-Eleven, which offers workplace training and employment opportunities for rehabilitation graduates, urging more private sector organisations to step forward.
