KUALA LUMPUR – A somber atmosphere shrouded the National Heart Institute (IJN) late this morning as a vehicle carrying the remains of the late Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali departed for her residence in The Mines, Seri Kembangan, Selangor.
The late wife of former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was transported from the medical facility at 10.48 am.
Children of the beloved figure, including Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir, Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir, and Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, were spotted at IJN accompanying her on her final journey home.
Police officers and IJN security personnel were deployed at the main entrance to manage traffic and control crowds as media teams gathered to cover the updates.
As of now, IJN has not released an official statement regarding her passing.
Earlier today, Dr Siti Hasmah was confirmed to have passed away at the medical centre at 9.20 am at the age of 100. – September 28, 2026
