PN refuses to sign CSA, Muhyiddin’s decision does not represent coalition: Takiyuddin

Takiyuddin Hassan says those who signed the agreement comprised several groups that were not actively involved with PN, including a faction from Bersatu, former Bersatu members and MUDA

KUALA LUMPUR – Perikatan Nasional (PN) has rejected the idea of signing a Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA), as done by six Bersatu MPs, saying it was an individual choice and did not reflect the coalition’s official stance or decision.

PN secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the actions of the Bersatu MPs, led by party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, had sidelined PN as a coalition and an opposition bloc.

As such, he said, PN would not negotiate or sign a CSA to secure allocations.

He said those who signed the agreement comprised several groups that were not actively involved with PN, including a faction from Bersatu, former Bersatu members and the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA).

“The CSA was their own choice as Members of Parliament. Coincidentally, the MPs who joined the CSA were from groups that are not actively involved in PN, namely Bersatu itself, former Bersatu members who had previously defected, as well as MUDA.

“Therefore, PN was not involved in the negotiations or the signing of the agreement. We were not involved,” he said, Utusan Malaysia reported.

On Thursday, six Bersatu MPs signed a Confidence and Supply Agreement (CSA) with the Madani Government, committing to support the passage of the Supply Bill 2027 (Budget 2027).

The agreement was signed by Bersatu president Muhyiddin and two vice-presidents, Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin and Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu, as well as two other party MPs, Datuk Mohd Suhaimi Abdullah (Langkawi) and Datuk Ali Biju (Saratok).

Also signing the agreement were Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman (MUDA) and several other MPs, including Datuk Dr Zulkafperi Hanapi (Tanjung Karang), Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Fasal (Bukit Gantang) and Zahari Kechik (Jeli).

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was reported to have said that the agreement was intended to ensure continuity of government administration, while providing the necessary space to implement the national development agenda effectively, including the 2027 Budget, for the benefit of the people.

Yesterday, Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi described the CSA as a positive development in addressing and resolving issues affecting the people. – Nov 2, 2026
