ARRC 2024: huge blow for Hafizh and JDT Racing Team ahead of season opener

Delays in shipment of motorbikes leave them unable to test machines during scheduled practice sessions

KUALA LUMPUR – It was a rough start for Hafizh Syahrin and his team, JDT Racing Team, when they were unable to participate in the free practice sessions today ahead of the first round of the 2024 Asia Road Race Championship (ARRC) at the Chang International Circuit, Buriram, Thailand.

The race is scheduled for this weekend.

It is understood that the JDT Racing Team’s motorbikes competing in the Asian Superbike 1000 category have yet to arrive in Buriram due to delays in shipment.

According to the organisers’ Facebook post, several other teams experienced similar issues, preventing them from testing their machines during the three free practice sessions today.

“Due to shipment delays, a few teams have yet to receive their bikes. We hope they will be able to join the test tomorrow,” the post read.

Meanwhile, Onexox TKKR Racing rider Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman showcased an impressive performance to top both free practice sessions as the fastest rider.

His teammate, Markus Reiterberger, the defending champion, was unable to continue practising after his bike developed technical issues following the first free practice session. – March 13, 2024
