KUALA LUMPUR – The Compassionate Care Foundation (CCF) is rallying support for the B40 community by raising funds to provide free Hyaluronidase treatment through the Charity Run: Your Steps, Their Smiles (CRYSTS) programme.
A collaborative effort between CCF and the Protect and Save The Children (PSC) organisation, the event is set to take place on December 14 at Kepong Metropolitan Park, here.
Speaking to Scoop, CCF board director Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said the proceeds from the run will go toward establishing centres offering free Hyaluronidase treatment for underprivileged individuals.
“The number of people requiring Hyaluronidase treatment in our country is increasing, and we need to support them by providing the best possible care,” said Lee when contacted.
“Unfortunately, this treatment is expensive, starting at RM4,000, which many people from the B40 community simply cannot afford. Through the CRYSTS programme, we aim to enhance the lives of underprivileged individuals by setting up centres to provide this treatment free of charge.
“Additionally, we hope to use this programme as a platform to raise awareness about Hyaluronidase treatment, so the public knows they can reach out to us for assistance.”
Hyaluronidase is an enzyme-based treatment used to improve blood circulation, reduce inflammation, and aid in the healing of skin and connective tissues.
It is particularly effective for conditions such as excessive scarring, oedema (fluid retention), chronic wounds, and post-surgical complications.
Established in 2017, CCF is a Malaysian NGO dedicated to improving the health and well-being of underprivileged communities.
It also provides Molecular Hydrogen Therapy for individuals suffering from chronic pain, post-stroke complications, post-chemotherapy effects, kidney and liver failure, osteoarthritis, diabetes, and skin diseases, helping them lead healthier, more active lives.
The CRYSTS programme will be officiated by Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz and graced by Tunku Kamariah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, patron of PSC.
The 7km charity run, offering a total prize of RM40,000, is co-organised by Hi-Bliss Hydrogen Therapy and Pensonic. — December 8, 2024
