The total number of commercial crime cases as of February 11 this year has increased by 34.3% to 4,741 cases involving a loss of RM558 million, up from 3,530 cases with a loss of RM181 million reported in the same period last year.
The Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department arrested 15,786 individuals for various commercial crime offences in the first eight months of this year, said Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.
