India approves 170,000 tonnes of white rice to be exported to Malaysia

The Indian government yesterday approved the export of 170,000 metric tonnes of non-Basmati white rice to Malaysia as a special friendly gesture between the two countries.

Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, also known as Mat Sabu, said that he held talks yesterday with representatives of the Indian government over that country's white rice export restrictions.

Agriculture Ministry to discuss with Indian counterpart on continuing white rice export

The Agriculture and Food Security Ministry hopes to hold a meeting with India’s agriculture and farmers’ welfare minister soon to find the best solution on the issue of white rice export restrictions.
