Ramadan in Malaysia begins Tuesday

Agong decrees date after Conference of Rulers’ consent following sighting of moon today

KUALA LUMPUR – Muslims in Malaysia will begin Ramadan fasting on Tuesday, the Keeper of the Ruler’s Seal has announced.

Tan Sri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad said Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim had decreed the date after consent by the Conference of Rulers, following the sighting of the moon today.

The sighting was conducted at 29 locations nationwide, including in Pontian Kecil, Johor and the Falak Al-Khawarizmi Complex, Kg Balik Batu, Tg Bidara in Melaka. – March 10, 2024
