Tree falls on car after downpour, lucky driver was in nearby shop

KUALA LUMPUR – A man escaped injury or worse when a tree fell on his car which he left parked by the roadside while he went into a shop.

The incident in Kapar, Klang, followed a heavy downpour this morning.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said it occurred at about 11.25am today, when a tree fell on the man’s car at Jalan Kapar Batu 3.

“No one was hurt during the incident,” he said in a statement.

Five personnel from the North Klang fire station were dispatched to the scene and took about two hours to clear the fallen tree.

According to further information provided to the media by the fire department, the driver had parked his car by the roadside to go to a nearby shop.

“He left the car before the tree fell,” the department said.

Clearing work was completed at 1.48pm. – August 11, 2024
