KUALA LUMPUR — Seasoned public relations professional Stefanie Braukmann has been named the first Malaysian honouree in the PRNews Top Women 2025 Awards.

Braukmann, who is Honorary Secretary of the Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA Malaysia) is the first Malaysian PR practitioner to receive this prestigious international honour.

The PRNews Top Women Awards, held annually in New York City, recognises trailblazing women who break boundaries in the global communications industry. This includes crisis leadership, brand building, market expansion and mentorship.

With the award, Braukmann, who also heads SPRG Malaysia, has highlighted Malaysia’s growing influence on the world stage of professional communications, PRCA Malaysia said in a statement.

“Stefanie’s achievement is a landmark for Malaysia’s PR industry and a proud moment for PRCA Malaysia. With over 20 years of experience as a practitioner in Malaysia, she has been instrumental in shaping the nation’s communications landscape, especially in promoting ethics, integrity, and sustainability.

“As a board member of the Business Council for Sustainable Development Malaysia, her influence extends beyond PR into responsible, values-based leadership. Being the first Malaysian practitioner recognised in PRNEWS Top Women is a testament to the global calibre of our local talent,” PRCA Malaysia said.

It also described the award as affirmation for PRCA Malaysia’s mission to secure international visibility for Malaysian practitioners.

“It is timely reminder to our own stakeholders that world-class expertise is already thriving within our shores,” PRCA Malaysia President Prof. Mohd Said Bani C.M. Din said in the statement.

Braukmann will join other honorees for the 2025 awards at a special awards luncheon in New York City on June 5.

These are women from around the world who are driving change and championing excellence across the communications industry, and the event will celebrate Braukmann’s own personal contributions to the PR industry as will as mark the calibre of Malaysia’s communicators on the global PR stage. – April 28, 2025
