KUALA LUMPUR — The teaching time allocated for the Reproductive and Social Health Education Guidelines (Peers) module will be increased under the 2027 school curriculum, the Education Ministry has announced.

Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the module, introduced in November last year, aims to raise awareness of reproductive health among students, teachers and parents.

“All Ministry of Education (MOE) institutions are required to follow the guidelines to address the issue of sexual harassment.

“Psychosocial support services also need to be further strengthened to support students,” she said in a statement today.

Fadhlina added that the ministry takes seriously recent media reports on the presence of paedophile-linked social media pages featuring school students, and urged that such pages be reported immediately.

“Social media pages displaying pornographic or immoral content must be curbed,” she said.

She also called on parents to play a proactive role in safeguarding their children from sexual harassment.

“They are also responsible for ensuring that the dignity of their children is protected.” — June 13, 2025
