KUALA LUMPUR – Sungai Buloh MP Datuk Seri R. Ramanan has committed to enhancing the facilities and learning environment at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seksyen 8 Kota Damansara, with more than RM100,000 allocated since 2023.
The Human Resource Minister emphasised that improving school infrastructure remains a priority to provide students with a conducive and high-quality educational setting, Bernama reported.
“School infrastructure development and support for students are important investments for the nation’s future. We will continue to ensure schools such as SMK Seksyen 8 Kota Damansara receive due attention so that the talents and potential of our children can be further developed,” he said in a statement today.
Through the Sungai Buloh Parliamentary Service Centre, a series of staged initiatives have been implemented, including the 2023 installation of air-conditioning systems in the computer laboratory, library, teachers’ room, counselling and guidance unit, and examination room, totalling RM41,700.
In 2024, RM17,034 was allocated for air coolers and a PA system for the school hall, while RM10,000 supported the Rakyat Tuition Programme organised by Yayasan Bank Rakyat.
An additional RM21,800 has been channelled towards various school activities, including the annual sports championship.
“These ongoing initiatives reflect our continuous commitment to strengthening educational infrastructure and ensuring the welfare of students and school staff is well taken care of towards more holistic excellence,” Ramanan said.
He also announced funding under the Projek Mesra Rakyat to renovate the school surau following requests from the school community for a more comfortable and conducive space for students.
Ramanan added that he has reached out to Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek and Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh to propose the construction of a new school field. – April 12, 2026
