KUALA LUMPUR — Touch ’n Go Sdn Bhd has unveiled a new suite of home-grown technologies designed to revolutionise Malaysia’s tolling and mobility systems, marking a major step towards fully open payment and barrier-free travel.

The company’s next-generation open payment mobility ecosystem — showcased at the Malaysian Road Maintenance Convention (MRMC) 2025 and MY-Asean Roads & Traffic Tech Expo (My-ARTTE) 2025 — features innovations in radio frequency identification (RFID), smart lane fast flow (SLFF) and multi-lane fast flow (MLFF) systems.

Chief executive officer Praba Sangarajoo said the technologies reflect Touch ’n Go’s commitment to advancing Malaysia’s mobility infrastructure through local innovation and engineering.

“Touch ’n Go is Malaysia’s pioneering fintech and mobility company and will celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2026. Over the decades, we’ve evolved to deliver new solutions that make travel easier for Malaysians — by Malaysians,” Praba said.

“Our focus is clear: to build products for Malaysians, powered by home-grown technology, and to create a smarter, more connected future for everyone.”

At the showcase, Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi visited Touch ’n Go’s Future Mobility exhibit at MITEC, where he was briefed on the company’s latest tolling innovations, including its proprietary titan flow system — an end-to-end MLFF platform developed entirely by Malaysian engineers.

Titan flow integrates RFID, automatic number plate recognition (ANPR), and 3D LiDAR technologies enhanced by artificial intelligence (AI) for real-time vehicle classification and enforcement accuracy.

The system aims to ensure fairer tolling, greater reliability, and potential for dynamic toll pricing based on traffic conditions or vehicle types.

Touch ’n Go said the system is designed to perform under heavy traffic and challenging weather, reflecting Malaysia’s readiness to adopt smart, scalable and enforcement-ready tolling systems.

The company also highlighted SOS balance — popularly known as “Gerak Dulu, Nanti Roger!” — which allows motorists with insufficient eWallet funds to pass through tolls and top up within 24 hours.

Since its rollout, the feature has benefited over 14 million motorists, facilitating RM42 million in toll payments.

Beyond highways, Touch ’n Go’s ecosystem now covers parking, public transport, and corporate fleet management. Its parking ecosystem offers cashless, ticketless parking using license plate recognition (LPR), while its digital transit pass, developed with Prasarana Malaysia Berhad, enables unlimited rides across Rapid KL’s rail and bus networks.

The company’s fleet solutions platform also helps businesses monitor toll transactions in real time, improving cost control and operational efficiency.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of CIMB Group, Touch ’n Go said it remains committed to investing in technologies that support Malaysia’s transition towards a fully open, connected and future-ready mobility network. — November 4, 2025
