[UPDATED] All CIMB services back online

CIMB Bank says it faced intermittent service disruptions between 2.45pm and 5pm yesterday, and again this morning

KUALA LUMPUR – All CIMB Bank services are back online after a recurring service interruption this morning.

In an update on its Facebook page, CIMB Bank confirmed it faced intermittent service disruptions between 2.45pm and 5pm yesterday, which impacted CIMB Clicks, CIMB Octo, FPX, MyDebit and Credit transactions and self-service terminals.

Subsequently, all services were restored by 5pm on the same day.

“Regrettably, a similar service interruption resurfaced early this morning but have been addressed with CIMB Clicks and CIMB Octo already available by 10am and with all services restored by early afternoon.

“CIMB Bank would like to reassure customers that its core banking system and customer data remain secure and intact, and is committed to strengthening its platforms’ resiliency and uptime.”

It also apologises for the inconvenience as Malaysians prepare to celebrate the festive season and thank customers for their patience and understanding.

Last Friday, Maybank users lambasted the bank after its online payment services suddenly went down as many of them were out shopping for Raya.

Checks by Scoop found that most users could not load their Maybank2U app and could only access ATM services, and some were “trapped” in various shops, as they were not able to pay for their purchases.

Maybank services, such as its mobile app, website and other channels were restored the following morning. – April 9, 2024
