KUALA LUMPUR – Former Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Wan Saiful Wan Jan has congratulated Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim following a survey by the Malaysian Institute of Future Studies (MASA) that showed rising public satisfaction with Anwar’s leadership and the Madani government.
In a social media post today, Wan Saiful pointed out that MASA is chaired by Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, with its board of trustees comprising individuals close to the former prime minister.
“When an institute chaired by the Bersatu president takes the effort of conducting a nationwide survey and its findings affirm Anwar Ibrahim’s leadership, Anwar can certainly take pride in the result,” he said.
The same survey, Wan Saiful noted, also found Muhyiddin to be the most popular candidate for prime minister after the 16th general election.

“I also congratulate Muhyiddin, because the institute he chairs has confirmed that he is the most popular choice to be prime minister after GE16,” he added.
Wan Saiful said it was noteworthy that an institute led by Muhyiddin produced findings that appeared to validate both Anwar’s leadership credentials and Muhyiddin’s own popularity.
“With Anwar’s leadership and Muhyiddin’s popularity both being affirmed, could this open a new chapter for the two to work together?” he asked, suggesting it could potentially pave the way for Bersatu to exit Perikatan Nasional (PN).
Muhyiddin stepped down as PN chairman with effect from January 1 this year. – January 7, 2026
