KUALA LUMPUR – Phase 2 of Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) will be credited to 5.2 million recipients starting March 10, 2026, ahead of schedule to help Malaysians prepare for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Prime Minister and Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government has allocated RM1.3 billion for this phase, up from RM1.1 billion in January.

The payments, ranging from RM100 to RM600, will benefit 3.8 million households and 1.4 million single senior citizens, while 200,000 newly approved recipients will receive theirs from March 30.

“Through STR, Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) and SARA Untuk Semua, the Madani government will continue efforts to ensure the nation’s wealth is shared and utilised by the people, especially those in need,” Anwar said.

For 2026, the combined allocation for STR and SARA stands at RM15 billion, the highest in federal government history.

The Finance Ministry has reminded the public to beware of scams and to only refer to the official STR portal for updates. – March 9, 2026
