The government intends, by 2040, to ensure the water sector would no longer be seen through the aspect of welfare, but instead having a value for investment, so that water operators in the country can start investing, said the environment minister.
The Selangor state government has allocated RM100 million for the continuation of pump infrastructure projects under the Raw Water Assurance Scheme, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari.
The country needs to view the management of water resources from a national security lens, especially in facing the uncertainties of climate change, said National Water Services Commission chairman Charles Santiago.
