KUALA LUMPUR – Don’t put the cart before the horse, said Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil in response to a report on fuel rationalisation in June.
Fahmi, who is also the government spokesman, said the issue was not brought up for discussion previously during cabinet meetings, including the one held last week.
“I have looked into the matter and I can confirm – as a member of cabinet – that we did not even discuss this. So, don’t put the cart before the horse.
“Some foreign newspapers have done that, but all parties, including the media, should get their information from official sources,” he said during a government event in George Town, Penang today.
He also reminded all media not to write news reports based on information from sources that cannot be verified or identified. – May 4, 2024
